What Makes Iggy's Bread Special
Commitment to Traditional Methods: The bakery prioritizes long fermentation processes, which not only enhance the depth of flavor in their sourdough but also contribute to the digestibility and texture that enthusiasts seek.

Focus on Quality Ingredients: By sourcing reliable, high-quality components, the bakers ensure that the natural characteristics of the grains shine through, resulting in a product that is both wholesome and deeply satisfying.
Artisanal Craftsmanship: Every loaf is handled with care, showcasing the skill and dedication of the bakers who understand the nuances of temperature, hydration, and timing required to produce consistent, high-quality results.
Beyond the technical aspects of baking, there is an intangible quality to Iggy's Bread that resonates with those who value slow, intentional living. In an era where convenience often takes precedence over quality, this bakery stands as a reminder of the value found in patience. The dedication to the craft is evident in the golden hue of the crusts and the open, airy crumb of the signature loaves. It is a place where the rhythm of the day is dictated by the cooling racks and the steady flow of neighbors stopping by for their daily essentials. This dedication to the local area and the craft of baking creates a unique environment that feels both professional and deeply personal.
The location in Bronte adds another layer of charm to the experience. Being close to the coast, the bakery captures the breezy, laid-back energy of the seaside suburb. It is the kind of place where you can grab a loaf before heading down to the beach or enjoy a quiet moment on the street corner. The consistency of the product, combined with the welcoming nature of the staff, ensures that every visit feels like a return to a familiar and comforting space. It is this reliability that has allowed the bakery to remain a staple in the lives of many, serving as a reliable source of nourishment and a highlight of the local neighborhood experience.
As you explore the offerings at 131 Macpherson St, you are invited to appreciate the subtle differences that define true artisanal baking. From the slight tang of the sourdough starter to the crunch of a perfectly baked exterior, every element is designed to provide a superior eating experience. The bakery does not rely on trends or gimmicks; instead, it relies on the enduring appeal of a well-made product. This approach has allowed Iggy's Bread to maintain its reputation as a destination for those who truly care about the quality of their bread. It is a celebration of the basics, executed with a level of precision and passion that is increasingly rare in today's fast-paced world.

Iggy’s Pastries has the best croissants I’ve had in Sydney. Perfectly flaky, buttery, and absolutely mouth-watering. They’re only open on weekends, so make sure you arrive early — everything sells out within about 20 minutes. The staff are amazing: very friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer any questions. Completely worth the early start and highly recommended.

Iggy's pastries is home to Sydney's best sourdough croissants!!! With a constant line flowing down the road, this place doesn’t disappoint. With freshly baked buttery layers of flaky goodness, this is the place to be. Highly recommend the savoury feta croissant.

I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to put a review down, but Iggy’s is by far the best real sourdough bread in all of Sydney (trust me, I’ve tried them all). I’m confused. Your croissants has been my favorite for years but I didn’t get a chance to have one for couple of months, until today. It breaks my heart to give you this review but it’s in a hope that you will read it and go back to your amazing, flaky, layery, crispy croissants :( the one I had today was pretty much a brioche with chocolate. Your bread is still the best hence the 3* but the croissant deserved a 0
:( please please please bring your amazing croissants back! ♥️

It's a stylish bakery, with a very small and simple sales space where you can see the bread being baked.
✍️The bread they sell is different on weekdays and weekends. (That was the case when I visited. )
I happened to stop by last weekend and bought some bread ( Raisin and Pecan Sourdough Bread )which was so delicious I went back to buy some more.
However they said that the bread is only available on weekends, so I bought a different bread instead.
I'm looking forward to coming back another weekend to buy the bread I wanted😗

In my top two for croissants and sourdough in Sydney (from a self proclaimed sourdough snob). Our go-to order includes the white sourdough, plain croissant, raisin roll, and sourdough roll. We have also tried their bagels (delicious) and wholemeal sourdough. The sourdough is delicious, with great crust, moist interior and texture.

The croissants are excellent, and the bread is very good as well. The only downside is the price, which feels quite high even by Sydney standards, so I’ve removed one star. As a French person, I find it surprising since bread is such a basic everyday food for us. That said, the quality is undeniable, and when I don’t have time to bake at home, I’m happy to come here. If it fits your budget, it’s a lovely treat.
